Just seen emph say he has an interest in books and decided to make this. So what books do you like? What authors do you like? and what type of genres do you like? Right now im doing a book for school, its a Rebus book, its a good detective thriller called : The Fleshmarket close. This was wrote by Ian Rankin who has done many detective thrillers in the John Rebus series which is now on tele. I really find this interesting as he packs it full of mystery which starts to link itself up nearer the end. Im into war, crime, detective thrillers as they are all really my type ;D PS. tbh i liked the harry potter books too

ok lets get this underway. I love a good book, there is nothing like letting the imagination do all the work. Here's who I read. Tom Holt Terry Pratchett Robert Holdstock Neil Gaimen James Herbert Clive Barker Simon Winchester-juronlist Books on geology, books on anthropology. Asterix and books on Maya 7 ( this last lot come with a learning version of the programe), it's confuseing but fun. I've made a small solar system, that spins around.
I also like to read more factual stuff these days it's almost like I have gained thirst for knollage that I never had when I was at school and I learn at my pace(SLOW). I love the way any good author can complestly capivate you, an make the world around you vanish.

I'm a total bookworm and read lots! When i'm not on the PS3/watching a movie i have my nose in a book. I've read loads but i like murder thrillers and am currently reading my way through Richard Montanari's murder trilogy ft. detectives Kevin Byrne & Jessica Balzano, highly recommend them. I also think Thomas Harris is amazing (the hannibal series) I read his latest novel 'Hannibal Rising' in a day because I couldn't put it down. One of my favourite novel's ever is 'Lolita' by Vladimir Nabokov, it's so beautifully written and was the first book to make me cry. I also read girly rubbish, especially after an intense murder mystery or a true life story which I also read a lot of!! I've read a lot of Shakespeare's plays through choice and I think his writing and poetry are breathtaking. My favorite author by far x x x x

Pink do you consider Shakespeare a great writer or a great playwrite ? I'm not knocking his talent but I think of him as a great playwrite an director of actors, many of wich supplied the words. I love Dickens, his social comentry is astounding.
Hannibal, is that 4th book realy any good. I loved the first 2, and found the 3rd a boreing grind as if he'd runout the idea of Hannibal an was just cashing in on the name. All I know about Riseing is that it's about his childhood. If you like true stories have a go at Lorenzo Carcaterra, he wrote Sleeprs and an other book called A safe place. Sleeper's is about being incaerated an what happens to them and the eventual outcome of these events and a safe place is about his early childhood an his not not so great father.

Nope Emph I'd definitely say writer, his poetry snd essays are astounding, and very true, even in modern day.
I really liked the 4th Hannibal, v. sad but really, really good, much better than the 3rd which was a little disappointing. There's obviously much more thought gone in to this, the 3rd was very rushed and I agree it sounded like he was cashing in.
At the mo I'm in the middle of 3 books so I might give Carcaterra a go afterwards. Love the film Sleepers, never read the book but I expect it to be more sad than the film.

Anyone ever heard of the Necroscope books? It's a fairly large series that a guy named Brian Lumley wrote, awesome books - I love them. Got into them when I was about 14 or 15 and I still go back to reading them now. They're a mix of horror and science fiction. I have other books in my collection as well but these are by far my favourite
This is them in the order they were written, the two Lost Years books are chronologically placed between Necroscope II:Wamphyri and Necroscope III: The Source
Necroscope Necroscope II: Wamphyri Necroscope III: The Source Necroscope IV: Deadspeak Necroscope V: Deadspawn
Vampire World I: Blood Brothers Vampire World II: The Last Aerie Vampire World III: Blood Wars
Necroscope: The Lost Years vol. I Necroscope: The Lost Years vol. II
E-Branch: Invaders E-Branch: Defilers E-Branch: Avengers
